If you need to access your email while away from the office you can use Lund University's webmail. The only requirement is that you have a working connection to the internet. More information is available here webmail.
But what if you need to access your files on your workstation at your office? In this case you can use something called Remote Desktop. If this sound like a solution you want to use then keep reading.
The following list needs to be exmined before using this service.
Instructions for each operatingsystem follows:

To be able to use the Remote Desktop service the computer needs to be running. You do not have to be logged in but as said before, the computer has to be in a running state.
When using a WiFi-connection the speed of the connection will be lower than if you are connected using a cable, this statement is only true if the wired connection is faster than the speed of your internetconnection. Another problem with WiFi is that for example a microwave-oven can knock out a wificonnection.
If you experience disconnects, strange looking windows or loss of responsiveness you could benefit from switching to a wired connection. But you could also try sitting closer to your accesspoint.
No. Only one person can be logged on to a windows workstation at the same time. If someone else is trying to login to a computer which already have a logged on user. The logged on user will get a notice asking them if they allow the remote user to log on.

Yes you can, the option is hidden to prevent accidental reboots. The option is available in another menu which can be access by pressing
End. While in the menu look at the bottom right, there you will find a “power button”. If you click on the button you will have the option to reboot.
A reboot takes a while to complete and during this time you can not be connected as the service is not running. After a few minutes you can reconnect and the computer has been rebooted. Why not grab a coffee while you wait?
You can print documents from your computer at your office to the printer at home, if the printer is installed on the computer you are connecting from. This is done using a service called “File- and printsharing”. To be able to use this service you need to allow usage of the service to the following:
